Dell Computer says a memory problem could be causing problems with some of its Latitude and Inspiron notebook PCs.
Company officials say flawed RAM modules can cause data to be corrupted or lost, causing a hung system or “blue screen” when users try to wake the notebook from suspend mode.
The notebooks that may be affected include Latitude CPiA, CPiR, CPt, CPx and CS models, as well as Inspiron 3500, 3700, 7000 and 7500 models.
An application that can test for the problem and provide details on how customers can obtain new memory modules can be downloaded from the company’s customer support Web site at support.dell.com.
