WindowsMe to include networking software

Responding to industry complaints and consumer demand, Microsoft says it will include software in its WindowsMe operating system that will allow consumers to hook their PCs into networking software from two of its competitors after all.

Just last month, the company decided not to incorporate a “networking client” for Novell and Banyan networking software in its upcoming consumer operating system – a move critics say would have forced small and home business users to upgrade to Windows 2000, which costs about $100 more.
