AOpen counting on system products to boost 2004 revenues

Optical disc drive maker AOpen is counting on increased shipments of notebooks, barebone systems and small form-factor PCs to boost its revenues by 20-30% to between NT$22 billion and NT$23 billion in 2004, according to company president Bernie Tsai. AOpen aims to ship 600,000 units of system products this year – 200,000 notebooks, 300,000 small form-factor systems and 100,000 barebones – Tsai said. The company shipped only 200,000 units in 2003.
