Intel executive sees 64-bit irrelevant for home PCs now

Even if Intel might not have been on the right track with its initial 64-bit strategy and now intends to catch up with AMD, the company still has the edge in the PR game. In an interview with Reuters, William Siu, the general manager in charge of Intel’s desktop computer chips business, fired at AMD and said 64-bit technology would not become relevant to home PC users until sometime in 2006.
