Intel CEO Craig Barrett to retire in May

Having reached age 65, Craig Barrett, chief executive officer of Intel Corp., is set to retire in May 2005, Barrett disclosed in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle.

The interview spent some time looking at recent issues within Intel on product delays and missteps, which prompted Barrett to send an e-mail to all employees. Barrett was also asked about the significance of the Chinese market and as a source of competition, before going on to discuss outsourcing.
