Oki Electric develops PCM sound chips for mobile phones

Oki Electric Industry today announced the development of three new models of Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) sound generator LSIs for mobile phones. The new products, the ML2863, ML2873 and ML2865, come in different sound quality and polyphonic tones, with sample shipments starting from April and volume shipments from June 2005. Oki will expand its product lineup by adding these three new models to the existing ML2871 and ML2873, all of which are compatible in software and pins.
