IBM, Cisco to team up on security technology

IBM and Cisco Systems said on Friday that they would tailor their security technology for computers and communications networks to work better together. As part of the security agreement, IBM and San Cisco said their products would better be able to detect when there was a threat to a business’s security. Among specific plans, IBM will integrate computer and network user authentication technology from both companies. It has also changed the security chip embedded in its notebook computers to work easily with Cisco’s virtual private network solutions.
