93% of South Koreans have mobile phones

South Korea – As of December, 2008, South Korea reportedly has nearly one cell phone for every man, woman and child in the country. The figure of 45.6 million mobile phones accounts for 93% of the entire population. Sung Suk-ham of the Korea Communications Commission said that despite the economic downturn, that number is expected to rise.
