NAND manufacturer prices up 40% in 2H January

Taipei (Taiwan) – DRAMeXchange is reporting that contract quotes for 8Gb and 4Gb multi-level cell NAND flash units jumped up by 40% and 33% respectively in the second half of January. Contract prices on the less common 16Gb MLC NAND flash segment grew between 2% and 8%.

Growth in this industry came following production shutdowns and cessation of creating new chips. This industry decision was reflected in several companies after an oversupply on weak demand was largely blamed for falling prices.
