CMO aims at global market share of 65% for 21.6" widescreen and 26" LCD TV panels

Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO), in light of its competitive cost advantage in the production of small-sized LCD TV panels, expects to increase shipments of 21.6-inch widescreen and 26″ panels to reach a global market share of 65% in 2008 mainly through cooperation with China-based LCD TV vendors, according to the company. Of the projected global LCD TV shipments in 2008, 40″ and above models will account for 30%, while 26″, 32″, and 37″ will take up another 30% in total, CMO indicated.
