Deep-pocketed DRAM module makers aggressively building inventory

Amid the highly volatile memory market, DRAM memory module makers are no longer seeing high inventory levels as a negative, and instead deep-pocketed players including Kingston Technology and Transcend Information are aggressively building up inventory. Kingston, which just announced sales of $4.5 billion in 2007, has approached chipmakers including Elpida Memory, ProMOS Technologies, Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC) and Samsung Electronics to increase its supply volume, according to industry sources.
