NAND flash shortage expected to ease in September

Although earlier predictions suggested the blackout and subsequent production stoppage at Samsung Electronics could lead to NAND flash supply falling as much as 20% below demand, recent estimates suggest the shortages are already starting to slow prompting sources at downstream makers to narrow the predicted gap in supply to just 3-4% in September. Unless Apple places more orders, new production capacity and processes which are set to appear in October could mean that NAND flash supply might even surpass demand, noted the sources.
