New service scans search results for viruses, spyware

If you are uncertain about the content of some of the websites you come across through search engine queries, then there is a new service that scans those web pages for potentially dangerous content such as viruses and spyware, but also for nudity, hate and discrimination and illegal activities.

Scandoo.com replaces the front pages of Google, MSN, Yahoo and Ask and marks every web page found with either a green checkmark or a red warning sign. Websites that directly attack the user’s computer are marked with a black spider logo.

The service is currently in beta, does not require downloads and is offered free of charge.
