EHomeUpgrade has the rundown, complete with photograph, of what is certain to be the first Microsoft-sanctioned USB-powered camera attachment for the Xbox 360. According to the specifications listed, it should be capable of shooting 640 x 480 video at 30 fps.
The Xbox 360’s camera at first glance appears to be nothing more than a simple add-on peripheral. The camera, however, is reported to support a new capability called ‘gesture recognition’ that will translate your real life movements and incorporate them into the game play. It’s not clear exactly what this means, how it will materialize in actual games and if any game developers have signed up to support the camera.
