Intel plans to introduce new mobile Pentium II processors before the third quarter, sources have told PC Week. In addition, the chip maker is planning to unveil its first mobile Pentium III processors later in the year, using the 440BX chip set with a 100MHz system bus.
The sources say Intel plans to release 400MHz and 433MHz mobile Pentium II processors in June.
The new chips will offer 256 kB of integrated Level 2 cache. They will be Intel’s first processors manufactured using its 0.18-micron process, sources said.
