NEC Computer Systems Division has added two more models to its PowerMate line of desktop PCs.
The NEC PowerMate ES (Enterprise Solutions) Series, designed for networked environments, includes a 440BX chipset on a universal motherboard offering Celeron through Pentium III support.
The PowerMate VT (Value and Technology) Series, targeted at small-to-medium-sized enterprises, offers a choice of Intel Celeron, Pentium II or Pentium III processors. Users can configure the systems with options including 2X AGP graphics with 4MB to 16MB; Ultra-DMA/33 hard drives from 4.3GB to 13GB; and 32X/40X CD-ROM or 4X DVD-ROM.
An NEC PowerMate ES 5200 PC, featuring a 333MHz Celeron processor, 4.3GB hard drive, and 32MB RAM, will be available later this month for approximately $849. Or for $1,849, users can choose an ES 5200 with a 500MHz Pentium III processor, 8.4GB hard drive, and 64MB RAM.
A VT 300 PC featuring a 333MHz Celeron processor, 4.3GB hard drive, and 32MB RAM will sell for $799. A 500MHz Pentium III-based VT 300 with an 8.4GB hard drive, and 64MB RAM will sell for $1,699.
