A small software developer in San Diego is preparing to ship its own PlayStation emulator for Intel-based PCs next week.
Bleem LLC says it will release a Mac version of the emulator later this year. First, however, the company will have to deal with Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., maker of the original PlayStation, which earlier this week asked a federal judge to impose a temporary restraining order to block shipment of the “Bleem!” emulator.
Sony’s move is similar to the restraining order it is still pursuing against Connectix Corp., maker of the Virtual Game Station emulator for the Mac.
