Ericsson introduces palmtop computer

Ericsson has introduced a hand-held, pocket-sized palmtop computer designed for the mobile office.

The MC 218 has a full keyboard and touch-sensitive screen, weighs about 12 ounces and fits in a pocket. The palmtop runs on the EPOC operating system, specially designed for wireless information services.

The device comes with software for web browsing, e-mail, short message service (SMS) and fax communication, as well as phone management for most models of Ericsson GSM phones. It is also compatible with all leading Windows 95/98/NT4 word processors, spreadsheets and databases and synchronizes with scheduler software on a desktop PC.
