Compaq has introduced an Internet appliance for corporate users that also supports mainstream personal productivity applications.
Called the iPaq, the unit weighs just over 10 pounds and takes up 75 percent less space than the typical desktop PC.
The $499 iPaq comes with either a 500MHz Pentium III or 500MHz Celeron processor, and is Windows 2000-ready.
The company said it expects to ship in volume in mid-January.
