PIII shortage puts speed bump in PC makers' plans

A shortage of 733MHz Pentium III chips is causing shipment delays for top-end PC products.

Micron, Dell and others report delays with deliveries of Pentium IIIs from Intel.Analysts are attributing the supply problems to manufacturing difficulties affecting the faster processors.

An Intel spokesman said that high demand for the chips is preventing the company from fulfilling its customers’ orders for the 733MHz processor.
