Intel has formed a new business group focused on wireless communications.
The company’s existing Computing and Enhancement Group will become the Wireless Communications and Computing Group, narrowing its focus to cellular and wireless communications.
The move builds on Intel’s October acquisition of DSP Communications, a supplier of chipsets, chip designs, and software for digital cellular products. DSP will report as a wholly owned subsidiary within the Cellular Communications division of the new Wireless Communications and Computing Group.
