FBI seeks author of Web attack tools

The FBI reportedly wants to question the hacker known as `Mixter’, the author of one of the programs believed to be responsible for last week’s Web attacks.

In an interview, the self-proclaimed “white-hat” hacker denied any involvement in the attacks, saying that he created the program, known as the Tribe Flood Network, to highlight just the weaknesses that were exploited last week.

The 20-year old, German-based hacker posted guidelines for security administrators on how to deal with distributed denial of service attacks, like the ones that brought down Yahoo!, CNN, Amazon.com and others for hours at a time last week.
