Microsoft: X-Box rocks

Microsoft has officially announced its long-rumored gaming console, code-named X-Box.

Scheduled for release in the fall of 2001, the console will be supported by a number of video and computer game developers and offer performance exceeding any previous game system.

The device will feature a 600MHz x86-compatible CPU, a custom 3D NVIDIA graphics processor, 64 MB of RAM, 8GB hard drive, 4X DVD drive with movie playback, 100 MBps Ethernet, four game controller ports, an expansion port, and proprietary A/V connector.
