Intel today introduces new 566MHz and 600MHz versions of its Celeron processor.
Priced at $167 and $181, respectively, they are the first desktop Celerons to be produced using Intel’s 0.18-micron manufacturing process.
Intel says the new chips are between 10 and about 55 percent faster than their predecessors at the same price.
The company will release a 633MHz chip and 667MHz chip in late April, with a 700MHz Celeron likely by the end of the first half of this year, sources said.
