Intel security software goes open source

Intel plans to release the source code of its Common Data Security Architecture, its widely used security software.

Version 3.0 of CDSA will become open source and available for download from the company’s Web site upon its release next month, Intel officials said. The company also plans to release an Itanium/Linux version to open source in August.

Developed by Intel Architecture Labs, CDSA adds a layer of security to operating systems, and can either be built into an OS or used as a supplemental tool kit.
