Napster-like software to search web

The open-source coders who wrote the file-swapping Gnutella are working on a new Web search engine based on a similar model. System administrators could run a program that would make information about their site available to those who use the search engine. Writers of the program have put up a proof-of-concept called InfraSearch, an engine that could eventually pose a threat to existing search engines. This comes at a time when users are finding ways to use conventional search engines to access information that few administrators would like to expose.
