Microsoft wins appeals hearing

The U.S. Court of Appeals has agreed to hear Microsoft’s appeal of last week’s judicial order to split the company in two.
In a 39-page motion filed with the court, the company called the ruling “profoundly flawed,” and said its effect would have a devastating impact “not only to Microsoft, but also to its employees, shareholders, business partners and customers, and could have a significant adverse impact on the nation’s economy.”
Meanwhile, government lawyers still hope to expedite the case, saying they intend to file a request to have it reviewed by the U.S. Supreme Court.
