Email joke virus annoys many

Over the weekend, an email virus masquerading as yet another unsolicited joke in a .txt file attacked computers through Microsoft Outlook. Known as Stages.worm, it makes use of a relatively unknown file format known as a “Windows scrap file” that uses the always suppressed .shs extension. Apparently written by the Argentine virus writer “Zulu,” it is not considered a major threat because it does not alter infected computers, though it can create serious problems for mail servers.
