Microsoft and Intel are working on a Bluetooth standard that will allow Compaq, IBM, Dell, Toshiba and anybody else using Intel chips with the MS OS to make use of Bluetooth. Intel is working on wireless PC cards and access points among other components for PCs, PDAs and cell phones. Ericsson and Xircom are working together on Bluetooth products. Widcomm has announced a Bluetooth reference design for its laptops and Motorola is working with both IBM and Toshiba to get their computers ready to talk Bluetooth with wireless devices. With so much movement, some observers worry that early Bluetooth products might not have the bugs worked out and could hurt the technology.
