Intel notebook chips to top 1GHz

Intel will introduce its new Tualatin .13 micron core for notebook processors in the second quarter of next year, allowing speeds of 1GHz and higher, according to The Register.

The company also plans to include its SpeedStep battery saving technology on all future mobile chips, including the mobile Celeron, following rival AMD’s decision to include its battery-saving Gemini technology in all of its up and coming mobile parts.

More details on Intel’s mobile processor road map are posted online at www.theregister.co.uk.
