Sony PDA includes video, Net access

Sony’s new Palm-based PDA will let users playback video, view still pictures, and connect to the Internet via cell phone, the company has revealed.

The Sony Personal Entertainment Organizer is capable of video playback speeds of four to 10 frames per second using a standard Dragonball EZ CPU tuned up from 16 to 20 MHz with 8 MBytes of DRAM, company officials said, and includes a 64MB Memory Stick that can hold two to three hours of video or some 2,000 still images.

Slated for introduction in Japan on Sept. 9, the color screen version will retail for about $560 and the monochrome version for about $514.
