Intel has cut prices of its Pentium III and Pentium III Xeons by as much as 24 percent.
The 933MHz PIII was slashed 10 percent, to $669, while the 866MHz and 850MHz versions were reduced by 17 percent, to $465 and $455. 800MHz and 750MHz Pentium IIIs fell 24 percent and 22 percent, to $294 and $262, respectively, while the 733MHz and 700MHz chips were each trimmed 11 percent, to $219 and $214.
Intel’s 256 kb-cache Xeons were reduced by 9 percent for the 933-MHz version, to $719, and by 16 percent for the 866-MHz version, to $515.
