Intel to back antitrust charges against Rambus?

Jack Robertson of Semiconductor Business News has reported that Intel may join DRAM makers this month in an antitrust complaint against Rambus to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. To understand this complicated issue, it helps to know about the agreement, secret for years, that Intel made with Rambus not to produce its own DDR chip set for use in PCs until 2003.
