Intel, Rambus relationship revealed

The Register has posted portions of the original SEC filing describing the unique nature of the relationship between Intel and memory developer Rambus.

As reported last month, terms of the long-secret agreement between the two firms prevent the chipmaker from producing its own DDR chip set for use in PCs until 2003 without losing its Rambus license, without which it would be unable to ship i820 or i840 chipsets.
