Remote control chips made for cell phones

STMicroelectronics NV and Digital Mobility have developed a chip set containing a WAP microgateway and microserver that uses Bluetooth. Appliances that implement the chip set could be controlled by a phone with WAP-over-Bluetooth capability. The potential would also exist to call a Bluetooth device from a remote location and control appliances within range of the transmitter.
