Two PC firms choose AMD over Intel

The US-based Micron Electronics and the British Tiny PC have both decided to put AMD’s Duron processors in at least some of their consumer boxes. Though neither of the announced “wins” are particularly large, they come on the heels of Intel’s stock devaluation and have added to the perception that Intel’s grasp on the market is slipping, while AMD’s fortunes are on the rise. AMD will take advantage of this turn of events in Q4 this year by expanding into the server chip market. At the same time, Athlons for notebooks will begin to appear.
