Two US hackers face jail

A 16-year-old Miami boy has been sentenced to six months in a juvenile jail for having his way with NASA’s supposedly secure network, where he intercepted thousands of e-mails and researched Department of Defense plans as well as information on the new International Space Station. He will also have to apologize, in writing, to the DoD and NASA. In related news, a 20-year-old Los Angeles resident has been arrested for breaking into many of the same secure systems, and others, but is likely to face more severe penalties. The suspect is no longer a minor and is also charged with credit card fraud he allegedly committed to pay for his computer and a few other items.
