VIA is working on a DDR SDRAM compatible chipset for Pentium IIIs and Athlons, named the Apollo Pro 266/KX266, as well as a chipset for 0.13 micron Pentium IIIs and Pentium 4s. Also, according to The Register, Gigabyte’s next GA-7DX motherboard, which will provide DDR support for Athlon and Duron, will utilize the AMD 760 chipset with the 761 Northbridge, together with the ATA100-capable VIA 686B Southbridge.
