Wall Street wants 1GHz Macs

IMB is building the most powerful supercomputer ever made for a business. The owner is privately-held NuTec Sciences, a company with 38 employees that will put the machine in Atlanta, Georgia. To be rented to companies engaged in genetic research, it will be capable of of 7.5 trillion floating point operations a second. The machine will be five times faster than the current fastest business machine owned by Charles Schwab Corp. and will rank in the top 10 most powerful supercomputers.
