AMD aims at corporate market

The technology created by IBM, Intel, Matsushita Electric and Toshiba, known as the Content Protection for Recordable Media (CPRM), could be on removable drives by this summer. The point of the product, designed to work with the recording industry’s Secure Digital Music Initiative, is to interact with codes built into media files, giving the producer of the files the power to control what can be done with them. As reported here before, opposition to the plan has already emerged.
