Rambus case raises open standards questions

Via Technologies Inc. has completed the first phase of its DDR SDRAM DIMM Compatibility Validation Program. According to the company, DDR is well on its way to becoming all the industry said it would be. A press release says, “Initial validation results show that a wide range of DDR Modules from the world’s leading DRAM suppliers are compliant with JEDEC specifications and are fully compatible with VIA Apollo Pro266 and KT266 DDR Chipsets.”
