Intel Corp. is increasing the voltage of the Pentium 4, accelerating clock speeds in 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5GHz P4s. The modified chips will be available after April 6.

In related news, Intel has introduced an architecture-specific C compiler to its IXP1200 network processor and adjusted the hardware to boost performance 15 to 30 percent.
