Silicon CMOS process becoming mainstream for WLAN chips

Taiwanese IC designers are increasingly adopting silicon CMOS process technology rather than silicon germanium (SiGe) and gallium arsenide (GaAs) substrates for WLAN products such as MAC (media access controller), baseband processor and RF (radio frequency) chips.
