After being cancelled due to the impact of SARS in Asia, Computex Taipei 2003 looks to be going ahead after all, with a new date being set for September 22-26. “The organizers of COMPUTEX TAIPEI’03, the China External Trade Development Council (CETRA) and the Taipei Computer Association (TCA) jointly decided to postpone Asia’s largest IT event after a detailed review of all factors, including fears that increased travel restrictions would negatively influence buyer turn out”. This is definitely good news for the entire hardware industry, and it will be quite interesting to see whether or not the SARS threat has been completely eliminated by September, as well as how many companies will be in attendance. In either case, Tom’s Hardware Guide, as always, will be covering the exhibition directly from the show floor.
TweakTown has the scoop.
